RALEIGH, N.C. (July 27, 2009) - Energy Smart Marketers is expanding its efforts to assist manufacturers in more effectively marketing to and through the electrical channel to include the solar and wind power energy markets, in addition to its original focus on the LED lighting industry.

Marketing to and through distributors, integrators, and contractors is of great importance to companies in the energy marketplace. Energy Smart Marketers can provide insight and research, as well as recommend strategies to address distributor acquisition, promotions, training, product differentiation, and branding needs. The group also offers expertise in channel strategy development, marketing planning, brand development, and acceleration of revenue initiatives for channel partners.

A joint venture between BtB Marketing Communications, a full-service business-to-business marketing communications agency specializing in technology clients, and Channel Marketing Group, a marketing consulting firm specializing in channel strategies and program development for manufacturers and channel partners, Energy Smart Marketers combines its complementary resources to meet clients' marketing and sales objectives by accelerating sales growth through the channel and to help clients better position themselves to take advantage of the energy efficiency opportunities available in the marketplace.

"Electrical distributors are becoming more active in the wind and solar markets, providing installations with their electrical needs," said David Gordon, principal, Channel Marketing Group. "Many are looking to broaden their product offering to their customers, while at the same time wind and solar manufacturers are struggling with underperforming dealer networks, which require significant account maintenance. Electrical distributors represent an opportunity for manufacturers to cost-effectively move product to local markets, enabling them to capitalize on more opportunities."

Energy Smart Marketers offers insight into which distributors are active in these markets, as well as the training and business development tools needed to support these distributors, and can help manufacturers develop this channel.

"As the government moves to promote more alternative energy sources, solar energy and wind power are being identified as growth markets for many of our existing clients," said George Bournazian, vice-president, BtB Marketing Communications. "By providing the right guidance, direction, and marketing tools to companies that are expanding into these growth areas, Energy Smart Marketers can help manufacturers educate and train channel partners, accelerate sales growth, and capture market share."
